Lotus Elan SE Overhanging Doors

Here at Mick Hadley Autos, Brierley Hill we have had a Lotus Elan SE in the shop to remedy a common fault found in these cars consisting of the lower rear of the doors sitting proud from the body. Normally there are several ways of doing this, the doors can be cut down or the body can be filled to the height of the doors, both of these ways are very time consuming but can be done. Darren came up with the idea to cut the upper lip behind the lock thus allowing the lock to be moved inwards taking the door inwards with it, fiberglass it from the front and back to give it structure before filling, priming and painting over.

A much simpler but just as effective way of doing it.
